Is the legal industry ripe for disruption? Testing the pulse of technology in the business of law

When it comes to technological advancements and the impact they have on our society, Andrew McAfee - visionary futurist, Director of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy and keynote speaker at ALM’s upcoming Legalweek, The Experience conference – put it best when he stated in his 2013 TED talk, “What will future jobs look like?”, that “we are in the middle of an astonishing period.”

Big Data Insights – Dealing with Dramatic Changes to your Source Data

Our data processes were running like a well-oiled machine. Information came in and valuable insights flowed out. In the middle of it all sat a series of processes that dissected information from a very complicated source, smoothed it out, and made it useful. Then the Department of Labor released a statement saying they were going to make major changes to our data source, the Form 5500. Along with the statement came one thousand pages of supporting documentation.
