The National Law Journal Hosts 2014 Colorado “Legal Department of The Year” Dinner

New York – October 3, 2014 – ALM’s The National Law Journal will host its first-ever “Legal Department of the Year” awards dinner for the Colorado legal services market on October 20th, at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Denver.

“The in-house counsel teams being recognized at this event demonstrate forward-thinking strategies as they meet their companies’ evolving legal demands,” said Beth Frerking, Editor-in-Chief of The National Law Journal.

The event will honor seven in-house legal departments at companies in the Denver area, including:

In-House Legal Department of the Year
Molson Coors Brewing Co.

In-House Legal Department of the Year Finalist
United Launch Alliance LLC

Big Deals/Major Litigation
DigitalGlobe Inc.

Corporate Compliance
Cochlear Americas Corp.

Diversity
Level 3 Communications Inc.

Outside-Counsel Management
Liberty Media Corp./Liberty Interactive Corp.

Pro Bono
CenturyLink Inc.

Earlier this year, The National Law Journal’s editorial department invited corporations in Colorado to report what distinguishes their in-house legal departments and general counsel. The National Law Journal then determined the state’s exemplary in-house law departments and general counsel based on overall excellence, how they manage outside counsel, their handling of big deals or major litigation, best practices in corporate compliance, how they foster diversity within their ranks and in the legal profession, and their pro bono and community work.

The event will take place on October 20, 2014, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., at The Ritz Carlton (1881 Curtis Street) in Denver. For more information, please go to http://at.law.com/Denverlegaldepartment.
