Texas Lawyer Transforms into Daily Digital Offering, Complemented by Monthly Print Magazine

Premier Texas Legal Media Outlet Repositions Itself as Digital-First Content Provider to Better Serve Readers & Marketers

New York, NY—April 4, 2016—The first issue of Texas Lawyer was published on April 3, 1985, and 31 years later, the weekly newspaper offering news and insights to the Texas legal community has reinvented itself as a robust daily digital offering, complemented by a monthly print magazine.

TexasLawyer.com now offers expanded news, features and analysis related to national and international energy, legal education and the business of law, as well as new features such as Around the Nation, covering relevant news from across the ALM network and Professional Announcements & On The Move, providing news about personnel changes in the Texas legal community. In addition, the enhanced TexasLawyer.com digital platform now includes a fully searchable Texas Decisions archive of case summaries with enhanced search capabilities.

“Our readers have expressed a desire for a greater amount of content in a more timely fashion, and our digital-first transformation enables us to meet this demand while continuing to provide the in-depth coverage, profiles, features and practice guides that the Texas legal community has come to expect from us,” said George Haj, ALM Regional Editor-in-Chief for Texas, Florida and Georgia. “We are now in a position to deliver more breaking news as well as devote greater resources to producing the market-leading intelligence that Texas legal professionals need to successfully manage their practices.”

To complement the enhanced editorial coverage and digital offerings, the first issue of the monthly Texas Lawyer magazine is available today in print and online at http://www.TexasLawyer.com.

Texas Lawyer magazine includes popular columns such as Inadmissible, Newsmakers, Out of Order and Verdicts, as well as surveys and rankings, comprehensive coverage of legal news and issues, in-depth profiles of notable lawyers and judges, and content about important topics for general counsel and their staffs from In-House Texas.

“The transformation of Texas Lawyer is the latest step in ALM’s overall strategy to meet the rapidly changing demands of our audience,” said Wayne Curtis, ALM Regional Publisher for Texas, Florida and Georgia. “The new Texas Lawyer format makes it possible to leverage our editorial thought leadership and growing digital-first platform to provide the news and information experience our audience needs, while creating more opportunity for meaningful sponsor-driven connections.”
