Legal Week Announces the 2018 British Legal Awards
Celebrating achievement, excellence and innovation in the legal profession on Thursday 29 November at Finsbury Square, London EC2
London, UK – August 13, 2018 – The British Legal Awards showcases achievements of one of the country’s most successful sectors. Hosted by Legal Week, in association with The City of London Law Society, the awards ceremony is attended by over 800 lawyers, representing the best of the UK’s legal community.
The ceremony will take place on Thursday 29 November at Finsbury Square, London EC2, marking the culmination of LegalWeek CONNECT, a two-day conference, now in its second year. LegalWeek CONNECT is the event where legal leaders including General Counsel, Law Firm Leaders, Technology and Innovation heads meet to explore a wide range of issues driving innovation and change in the industry.
The key awards for the British Legal Awards include The City of London Law Society Lifetime Achievement Award, Law Firm of the Year, General Counsel of the Year, Editor’s Award: Law Firm Leader of the Year and the Legal Services Innovation Award, which will showcase the most cutting-edge developments within the legal sector. The team awards cover: M&A (large and medium-sized deal), private equity, banking and finance, restructuring, private client, property, energy and infrastructure, litigation and dispute resolution, regulatory and investigations, competition, commercial and technology, media and telecommunications.
The winners will be decided by an independent judging panel chaired by Edward Sparrow, Chairman of the City of London Law Society. This year’s panel includes General Counsel, former Law Firm Managing Partners and other senior members of the legal community.
