NEW YORK – September 3, 2014 – ALM’s Corporate Counsel will host the 8th Annual Hedge Fund General Counsel Summit on October 1st and 2nd at Convene Times Square in New York City.
The event tackles the latest legal, regulatory and compliance opportunities and challenges faced by hedge fund managers and investors. The program features two full days of interactive presentations and panel discussions, unique access to industry thought leaders and the opportunity for meaningful networking with fellow hedge fund general counsel and compliance officers. Participants are also eligible to earn up to 15.6 CLE credits and 15.5 CPE credits.
The conference kicks off with a “Fireside Chat” featuring Drew Bowden, Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE), on the risks and challenges for hedge funds.

• The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Streamlined Delegation Approach during the panel “CFTC Compliance: Examining the Latest CFTC Guidance and Regulatory Issues on Delegation and Other Items”, taking place on October 1 at 3:00 pm
• OCIE’s Cybersecurity Initiative during the panel “Best Practices for Complying with SEC Cybersecurity Preparedness Exams: Lessons Learned from the OCIE Risk Alert”, taking place on October 2 at 8:30 am
• Considerations for launching retail alternative funds during the panel “Exploring the Convergence of Retail and Alternative Products”, taking place on October 2 at 3:00pm
