ALM Rolls Out All-New Law.com, Combining Content from its Full Collection of Global Legal News Brands

Website now includes innovative Contributor Network and content organized by area of practice

NEW YORK – March 4, 2014 – ALM, the leading provider of news and business information to the legal and real estate industries, today announced the re-launch of its Law.com website, which for the first time allows subscribers access to the full range of legal news and information from across its entire network.

“This is the realization of our vision to create a single destination where readers can access the rich content across our global network of legal news and information brands,” said Bill Carter, president and chief executive officer at ALM. “It’s designed to be the go-to site for current awareness and insights for the legal professional in today’s digital age.”

According to Carter, the new Law.com brings several new milestones to the market: it’s the first time ALM will offer readers access to the entire network through one subscription; it’s the first time ALM has packaged content into practice area offerings; and it’s the first time ALM will open up its publishing platform to a large network of contributors, providing practical insights and commentary on legal developments.

“The Contributor Network was developed in response to a growing chorus in the legal community to allow thought leaders to share their perspective and practical insights in the same forum that we deliver breaking news,” Carter added.

This growing network includes more than 160 contributors, including some prominent partners from Am Law 100 firms, judicial leaders and several industry-leading corporate counsel. They will provide insights across a broad range of topics including law firm management, emerging litigation disputes, and other timely legal developments.

The five areas of practice currently featured on the new website include the following:

  • Appellate
  • Corporate and Securities
  • Intellectual Property
  • Labor & Employment
  • Class Actions & Product Liability

According to Carter, additional practice areas will be added later in 2014.

Like the accompanying Law.com app, which rolled out last month at LegalTech New York, the news and insights on the new site are delivered in a sleek, mobile-optimized interface, designed to be visually arresting with a large number of images, charts and infographics.

To provide readers with a preview of the content on the all-new Law.com, ALM is offering a complimentary 30-day trial to all five areas of practice. Upon completion of the 30-day trial, there are a variety of subscription packages available, including an ALM all-access subscription.

The redesign of the Law.com is the latest in a series of strategic moves made by ALM to aggressively transition into a “digital first” publisher. So far this year, the company has introduced redesigned websites for 18 of its legal publications nationwide, as well as the launch of the law.com mobile app.
