ALM Hires Deputy Editor-in-Chief to The New York Law Journal
The New York Law Journal adds Susan DeSantis to editorial team
New York, NY – October 19, 2017— ALM has appointed Susan DeSantis as Deputy Editor-in-Chief to ALM’s New York Law Journal publication.
In this role, DeSantis will be responsible for managing and maintaining the editorial content within the New York Law Journal’s daily print and digital publication. She will connect with the New York Metro area legal community to gain insight on what the publication’s readers care about the most.
“We are thrilled to have Susan join our New York Law Journal team,” said Molly Miller, Chief Content Officer at ALM. “Her editorial experience and skills will help us continue to execute our engaging digital and daily content in the New York area.”
DeSantis comes to ALM from The Record in Northern New Jersey where she was the editor in charge of the digital site, northjersey.com, during the critical early-morning hours. At the website and newspaper, she was responsible for major breaking news and was the editor who dispatched dozens of reporters and photographers to the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks.
DeSantis, a certified teacher of high school English, taught journalism at both Rutgers University in New Brunswick and Newark. She also served as a diversity trainer at The Asbury Park Press as part of an effort by the Newspaper Association of America to diversify the nation’s newsrooms. She received a B.S. in Journalism from Syracuse University.
DeSantis takes the reins at The New York Law Journal following the departure of Rebecca Baker to the Daily News earlier this year.
