At ALM, our vision is to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into how we work every day – to empower and embrace the voices of individuals with diverse perspectives to deliver innovation and growth for our global customers and partners. An essential part of our culture has always been respecting each individual’s strengths and values. Building on this foundation, we continue to create an inclusive, engaging work environment and prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in keeping with our values of integrity and people. Our diversity strategy has been well defined with input and guidance from our own ALM teams. Our vision for DEI at ALM calls on us to encourage, value and leverage differences to build an inclusive and engaging work environment. We are working hard to integrate this strategy across our efforts to attract, develop and retain a diverse workforce.
DEI at ALM
ALM has established an employee-led DEI Council to co-create our strategic plans and ensure ongoing process and integration and alignment with ALM’s business strategy.
DEI Awareness & Education
At ALM, we provide employees at all levels of our organization with opportunities to educate themselves on DEI in the workplace. Managers partake in a “Leading Inclusively” workshop which supports them in cultivating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, respected and heard. Employees will have time to partake in workshops held both live and online that showcases what bias is, how it shows up, and what to do about it, is a proactive effort to increase awareness and teach skills on how to address our biases. Since launching these workshops, ALM has had a 97% participation rate at the management and leadership levels in the organization. We continually offer opportunities for our teams to gain insight and education into ALM’s DEI vision.
Recruiting and development
We continue our efforts to attract and develop diverse talent and to implement inclusive policies and practices. ALM partners with an extensive list of colleges, universities, professional associations and job boards that promote and support diverse talent pools. We strive to promote internal development and career progression opportunities for our existing talent while focusing on diversifying our workforce at the same time. ALM also fosters growth and development of future talent each Summer through our Summer Internship program.
We are proud of our efforts to date at ALM but recognize achieving diversity, equity and inclusion is a long-term journey. We are committed to continuing to do the work necessary to build a workplace that allows all people to bring their authentic selves to work and realize their potential.
