EU’s Chief Trans-Atlantic Trade Negotiator to Give Keynote Address at ALM’s U.S.-E.U. Legal Summit in Brussels

NEW YORK – May 27, 2014 – ALM’s The American Lawyer today announced that the keynote address at the inaugural U.S.-E.U. Legal Summit will be delivered by the European Commission’s Chief Negotiator of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, Mr. Ignacio García Bercero.

The event will be held on June 16, 2014, at the Steigenberger Grand Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.

Mr. Bercero will speak on the topic of “The Myths and Realities of The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)”. He will cut through the recent controversy surrounding TTIP to explain its realities for European and U.S. businesses, and will also answer questions from the audience. TTIP is poised to be the biggest bilateral trade deal ever negotiated.

The U.S.-E.U. Legal Summit is designed for European and US in-house counsel, government relations heads and C-suite executives.  Speakers include representatives from corporations including 3M, AT&T, Deutsche Bahn, Oracle, Unilever, IBM and Deutsche Telekom, as well as representatives from the European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition. General counsel and other senior delegates from multinational companies and trade associations across Europe will be in attendance.
