| CORPORATE COUNSEL DEBUTS NEW MAGAZINE DESIGN, EXPANDS COVERAGE OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW |
NEW YORK (February 23, 2010) – ALM’s Corporate Counsel, the nation’s leading publication for general counsel and in-house attorneys at corporations and nonprofits, today launched a redesign of its print magazine, with a new look and expanded coverage of IP law-related news. The March issue print redesign debut follows the launch of the new Corporate Counsel Web site (www.corpcounsel.com) last September. The magazine and Web site will now incorporate much of the content of IP Law & Business, which ceased publication in January, in a new department called “IP Insider.” IP Law & Business editor Ed Shanahan and IP reporter and blogger Joe Mullin (The Prior Art Blog) have joined the staff of Corporate Counsel. To view the March issue of Corporate Counsel magazine online, visit www.corpcounsel-digital.com.
The new design, which more closely links print and online content, includes a new brand logo and cover layout, as well as updated, modern graphics with improved organization and presentation. The former “News” and “Global Lawyer” departments have been merged into a new ‘Inbox” section, with international news flagged for readers.
IP features will also be added to future issues of the magazine and the “IP Insider” section will be prominently featured on the Web site home page.
“With this redesign, we’ve brought the look of the magazine in line with the fascinating topics we cover. It’s modern, crisp and up-to-date, and better displays our business and law coverage,” said Anthony Paonita, editor in chief. “Intellectual property has always been a hot topic with our readers. We’re excited to now have a regular IP feature in every issue of the magazine, and on our Web site every day.”
The March issue of Corporate Counsel includes a cover story by reporter David Hechler on new steps by Ford’s in-house legal department to increase efficiency and get more mileage from fewer lawyers. In addition, Joe Mullin profiles an online video start-up that’s tipping the scales in the copyright wars and offers lessons from the Patent Troll Tracker.
Corpcounsel.com provides daily breaking news coverage of the in-house counsel world, practice updates on a wide variety of substantive law topics from law firms and corporate counsel, as well as links to all major Corporate Counsel magazine surveys and special reports, including the 2009 “Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies” report. Online subscribers and registered users can also sign up to receive the new, redesigned Corporate Counsel Daily Alert, a free daily e-newsletter highlighting top news and stories.
The award-winning Corporate Counsel is published in print and online by ALM and is available on the Web at www.corpcounsel.com. A digital issue of the magazine is also available.
