Netbook Contest – Official Contest Rules

1. Three Netbooks (Inspiron Mini 10v ) (the “Prize”) will be awarded by Law Technology News a publication of ALM Media, LLC (“Sponsor”).  Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of greater or equal value.

2. This Contest is open only to LegalTech Attendees in one of the 50 United States or D.C., except Florida (“Contestants”).  Contestants must be legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., excluding all employees of Sponsor and/or its subsidiaries, affiliates, dealers, agencies, judges and their immediate families. Entries received from persons residing in geographic areas in which entry is not permissible will be disqualified.

3. Neither an entry fee nor a subscription is required to enter. You may enter your name in the contest one time by filling out the subscription form to receive Law Technology News, the LTN alert and/or sign up to attend Virtual LegalTech . Each submission must be accompanied by a completed subscription form, which appears on www.alm.com/netbook and will be provided at LegalTech. To enter without submitting a completed survey, you must mail your name and mailing address to Netbook Contest at 120 Broadway, 5th Fl., New York, NY 10271 or email your name and mailing address to edeming@alm.com with “LegalTech Contest” in the subject line.  Only one entry per person/e-mail address (or household if submitting entry by mail). All e-mail entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the Authorized Holder of the e-mail account from which they were sent. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry to the sweepstakes, the Authorized Holder of the e-mail address shall be considered the valid entrant. “Authorized Holder” as used herein is the natural person who is registered with the Internet service provider (or similar provider) for the e-mail address.

4. The winners will be determined in a random drawing from all entries by a qualified panel of judges. The judges’ decision is final with respect to all matters relating to the promotion. Odds of winning are determined by the total number of entries received. Odds of winning are not increased if you subscribe to a product or sign up for Virtual LegalTech.

5. This contest runs from February 1st, 2010 10:00 AM, EST to February 3, 2010, 3:00 PM EST. Entries sent by U.S. mail must be postmarked no later than February 3, 2010, 3:00 PM EST and must be sent LealTech Netbook Contest New York Office located at 120 Broadway, 5th Fl., New York, NY 10271. Entries submitted via the Internet must be submitted no later than February 3, 2010, 3:00 PM EST.  The drawing will be held on or before February 19, 2010, 3:00 PM EST. Sponsor is not responsible for ineligible, incomplete, mutilated, lost, late or postage due entries. To minimize risk, we suggest you retain copies of your entry.  Entries may be retained, published or disposed of at Sponsor’s discretion and will not be returned. ALM, in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify any game not capable of completion as planned, including infected computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, loss of data or technical failures of any sort. ALM shall not be responsible for the foregoing technical failures.

6. The winner will be notified by email and will be required to sign and return within 10 days of notification an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability.

7. To the extent permitted by law, acceptance of the Prize grants Sponsor the consent of the winner to irrevocably assign and transfer to Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in and to said entry including, but not limited to, all intellectual property rights. Submission of an entry and/or acceptance of the Prize grants ALM the right to publish, use, edit adapt and/or modify the winning entry in any way without territorial, time, use of or other limitations for any and all purposes, including but not limited to advertisements, in any and all media worldwide without further compensation to or approval by Contestant. In addition, the winner will be required to grant Sponsor use of their name, likeness and biographical information in advertising and publicity about this Contest or future contests without added compensation or approval, except where prohibited by law. Failure to comply with all or any of these conditions may result in Prize forfeiture.

8. By entering, you agree to release Sponsor, its employees, managers, directors, and representatives from all claims and liabilities in connection with this Contest or the Prize.

9. Winner may not transfer Prize rights nor obtain substitutions or cash redemptions. All taxes on prizes and incidental expenses not specified in the above Prize description are solely the responsibility of the winner. Offer void in Florida and where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
