<p>Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, the Director, Creative Services is responsible for development of innovative sales and marketing solutions that support ALM’s broad portfolio of legal, real estate and event products and services. The Director oversees all phases of the creative process to produce high quality, strategically grounded, creative materials that aid the advertising sales process, increase brand awareness, generate leads and drive web traffic. Responsible for directing a team of five, the Director must ensure that work flows through the department in a manner that allows timely delivery of marketing collateral to internal clients. The right candidate possesses energy, passion, and a desire to deliver innovative successful solutions for clients. The candidate will not only ensure the department runs effectively, but creates an environment that inspires creativity and the best design and copy from his/her team.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong><br />
• Creative Ideation and Problem Solving &#8211; In partnership with Sr. Brand Manager, VP and internal clients, the Director, Creative Services must be able to think strategically and help shape branded compelling communications that break through clutter, generate leads, and drive traffic. Director leads the development of all creative and must understand and apply brand strategies in the execution of creative assignments.<br />
• Digital and Web Development &#8211; Create new digital products and websites from idea through development. Coordinate with internal and external developers to achieve cost-effective high-quality results that integrate well with current digital initiatives.<br />
• Digital Solutions/Social Media Champion &#8211; Possess a passion for digital MARCOM. Adept at using technology in developing client solutions, creating process efficiencies, delivering MARCOM and improving productivity.  Demonstrated experience with social media platforms like Twitter, Linked-In, Facebook, and You-Tube to drive brand relationships and traffic.<br />
• Branding &#8211; In coordination with the VP of Marketing, oversees implementation of corporate branding including consulting with marketers company-wide on proper application of ALM brands. Understands and champions the building of the brand through creative that builds brand awareness.<br />
• Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills &#8211; Using custom and syndicated market research, the Director Creative Services must have the ability construct compelling messages that sell. Responsible for ensuring customer insights are integrated in all MARCOM, the Director must also be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, have a strong creative point of view and able to effectively communicate this point of view to the VP and marketers. Must have the ability to write copy and provide the direction to develop and refine copy.<br />
• Department Administration &#8211; Oversees Creative Services budget. Ensures that all creative service deliverables are produced in a timely, cost effective manner while maintaining the creative integrity of the brands. Manages the timeline and critical dates on assigned projects both internally and with vendors. Responsible for the intake and timely trafficking of all creative service jobs from ideation to deliverable. Develops and maintains department’s digital design assets/ archives.<br />
• Team Building &#8211; Ability to identify, coach and train talent. Provides clear, constructive and creative feedback to all designers and copy writers. Motivates staff to produce creative out of box MARCOM solutions.</p>
<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br />
• 7-10 years work experience as an art director and/or in a creative services director in b-to-b publishing, media, new media or agency environment.<br />
• Basic understanding of technology supporting a creative services department. Knowledge of hardware and networking skills for the installation and maintenance of graphics software and peripherals is a plus.<br />
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and sell ideas to clients and senior management.<br />
• Experience in developing creative digital marketing solutions.<br />
• Strong organizational and project management skills required.<br />
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite to include: In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks. Also knowledge of MAC OSX, PowerPoint, and creating PDFs is required.<br />
• Strong working knowledge of CSS, (X) HTML, JavaScript, PHP, video production and editing and working within CMS based environments.<br />
• Must be a strategic thinker, a problem solver and be extremely knowledgeable in the print and digital design and production processes.<br />
• Strong client management skills with the ability to collaborate and provide vision, direction and suggestions/solutions to design problems and assist in the art direction and copy writing process is essential.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Netbook Contest &#8211; Official Contest Rules</strong></p>
<p>1. Three Netbooks (Inspiron Mini 10v ) (the “Prize”) will be awarded by Law Technology News a publication of ALM Media, LLC (“Sponsor”).  Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of greater or equal value.</p>
<p>2. This Contest is open only to LegalTech Attendees in one of the 50 United States or D.C., except Florida (“Contestants”).  Contestants must be legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., excluding all employees of Sponsor and/or its subsidiaries, affiliates, dealers, agencies, judges and their immediate families. Entries received from persons residing in geographic areas in which entry is not permissible will be disqualified.</p>
<p>3. Neither an entry fee nor a subscription is required to enter. You may enter your name in the contest one time by filling out the subscription form to receive Law Technology News, the LTN alert and/or sign up to attend Virtual LegalTech . Each submission must be accompanied by a completed subscription form, which appears on www.alm.com/netbook and will be provided at LegalTech. To enter without submitting a completed survey, you must mail your name and mailing address to Netbook Contest at 120 Broadway, 5th Fl., New York, NY 10271 or email your name and mailing address to edeming@alm.com with “LegalTech Contest” in the subject line.  Only one entry per person/e-mail address (or household if submitting entry by mail). All e-mail entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the Authorized Holder of the e-mail account from which they were sent. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry to the sweepstakes, the Authorized Holder of the e-mail address shall be considered the valid entrant. &#8220;Authorized Holder&#8221; as used herein is the natural person who is registered with the Internet service provider (or similar provider) for the e-mail address.</p>
<p>4. The winners will be determined in a random drawing from all entries by a qualified panel of judges. The judges’ decision is final with respect to all matters relating to the promotion. Odds of winning are determined by the total number of entries received. Odds of winning are not increased if you subscribe to a product or sign up for Virtual LegalTech.</p>
<p>5. This contest runs from February 1st, 2010 10:00 AM, EST to February 3, 2010, 3:00 PM EST. Entries sent by U.S. mail must be postmarked no later than February 3, 2010, 3:00 PM EST and must be sent LealTech Netbook Contest New York Office located at 120 Broadway, 5th Fl., New York, NY 10271. Entries submitted via the Internet must be submitted no later than February 3, 2010, 3:00 PM EST.  The drawing will be held on or before February 19, 2010, 3:00 PM EST. Sponsor is not responsible for ineligible, incomplete, mutilated, lost, late or postage due entries. To minimize risk, we suggest you retain copies of your entry.  Entries may be retained, published or disposed of at Sponsor’s discretion and will not be returned. ALM, in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify any game not capable of completion as planned, including infected computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, loss of data or technical failures of any sort. ALM shall not be responsible for the foregoing technical failures.</p>
<p>6. The winner will be notified by email and will be required to sign and return within 10 days of notification an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability.</p>
<p>7. To the extent permitted by law, acceptance of the Prize grants Sponsor the consent of the winner to irrevocably assign and transfer to Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in and to said entry including, but not limited to, all intellectual property rights. Submission of an entry and/or acceptance of the Prize grants ALM the right to publish, use, edit adapt and/or modify the winning entry in any way without territorial, time, use of or other limitations for any and all purposes, including but not limited to advertisements, in any and all media worldwide without further compensation to or approval by Contestant. In addition, the winner will be required to grant Sponsor use of their name, likeness and biographical information in advertising and publicity about this Contest or future contests without added compensation or approval, except where prohibited by law. Failure to comply with all or any of these conditions may result in Prize forfeiture.</p>
<p>8. By entering, you agree to release Sponsor, its employees, managers, directors, and representatives from all claims and liabilities in connection with this Contest or the Prize.</p>
<p>9. Winner may not transfer Prize rights nor obtain substitutions or cash redemptions. All taxes on prizes and incidental expenses not specified in the above Prize description are solely the responsibility of the winner. Offer void in Florida and where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
