Tim Weller

Tim Weller
Founder and Group Chief Executive, Incisive Media

Tim started his career at VNU Business Publications in 1982 and left to join Centaur Communications in 1987 becoming a director of Centaur Publishing in 1989 where he was responsible for The Lawyer and Money Marketing. In 1994 he became Managing Director of Reuters Publishing. Upon leaving Reuters Publishing later that year, he founded Incisive Media through the launch of the acclaimed Investment Week. In December 2000 he successfully floated the company on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.

In December 2006, backed by Apax, Tim led the management buyout of Incisive Media in a public to private transaction.

Tim was voted PPA Publisher of the Year in 1997 and 1998, and Entrepreneur of the Year - London in 2001. In 2005 he received the UK publishing industry's top honour - the Marcus Morris Award.

Tim is also the Chairman of PPA Business and Professional, the organisation representing professional and business media in the UK and a non executive director of RDF Media PLC.

William L. Pollak

William L. Pollak
Chief Executive Officer

William L. Pollak has served as president, chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of ALM since the company’s formation in 1998.

Mr. Pollak joined ALM after 16 years with The New York Times. During his tenure at The Times, he held a variety of senior marketing, advertising and circulation positions. From 1994 to 1998, he served as executive vice president, circulation, reporting to the president of the newspaper. Previously, he had served as executive vice president of sales with responsibility for the advertising, circulation and marketing departments; senior vice president of circulation for the New York, Northeast and National editions of the paper; and director of marketing planning.

Mr. Pollak is a director of ProBono.Net, a non-profit organization that utilizes information technology to expand delivery of legal services to low-income individuals and communities by public interest and pro bono lawyers.  He is also a director of the American Business Media (ABM) trade association and of BPA Worldwide, the industry media auditing association, and serves as chairman of the ABM’s Rich Data Council.

Mr. Pollak graduated, cum laude, from Harvard College, earning an A.B. degree and received an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.

Eric Lundberg

Chief Financial Officer

Eric Lundberg was named Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of ALM in2008. Mr. Lundberg oversees all financial affairs for ALM and also assists Incisive Media Group Finance Director Jamie Campbell-Harris on corporate matters. Mr. Lundberg rejoined ALM from Penton Media, Inc., where he served as CFO. Previously, Mr. Lundberg was Vice President and CFO of ALM from 2003 to 2007, and Vice President, Finance for the company beginning in 2001. Mr. Lundberg was Publisher of ALM’s Texas Lawyer Division from 2000 to 2001. He joined ALM in 1995 and held a variety of financial positions, including Corporate Controller and Director of Financial Planning. Mr. Lundberg began his career with First Fidelity Bank and Price Waterhouse. He graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. degree in accounting.

Jack Berkowitz

Jack Berkowitz
Senior Vice President

Jack Berkowitz was named Senior Vice President in August 2002. Previously, he had served as Vice President, Business Development for ALM since 1998. In this position, Mr. Berkowitz oversaw business planning for each of ALM's operating units, as well as the identification of new business development opportunities. A 25-year veteran of the publishing industry, Mr. Berkowitz had served as a consultant to ALM since the company's formation. Mr. Berkowitz' career has included experience as an owner, senior executive and consultant at many of the country's leading publications and publishing companies. He served as Executive Vice President of The Village Voice, Publisher of Politicks and Other Human Interest, Nuclear Times, and NewsInc., and as President of The Nation. Mr. Berkowitz assisted in the launch of 7Days, and World Business, among other new publications. As a consultant, his client roster included Cowles Business Media, Hearst Magazines, Time Inc., Felker Media, Associated Newspapers and AdWeek, in addition to ALM.

George M. Dillehay

George M. Dillehay
Senior Vice President

Mr. Dillehay was named senior vice president in 2004. He became publisher of the New York Law Journal in 1999 and added management responsibility for The National Law Journal and ALM’s Law Journal Newsletter Group in 2003. He had previously served as a consultant to the company. His industry experience includes executive positions with The Village Voice, The New York Review of Books, and its English literary magazine, Granta. He held the position of Managing Director at the investment banking and publishing consulting firm, The Jordan Group, Inc. and was the founding publisher of Channels magazine. Additionally, he held the position of Vice President/Group Publisher at the Children’s Television Workshop, publishers of Sesame Street magazine. Mr. Dillehay established his own consulting practice in 1991 where his clients included Bill Communications; The Nation; and Mother Jones. Mr. Dillehay currently serves on the board of directors for String Letter Publishing, publishers of Acoustic Guitar and Strings magazines.

He holds a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from New York University.

Allison Hoffman

Allison Hoffman
Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Ms. Hoffman was named Senior Vice President in 2007. She had previously served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for the company since 2001. She joined ALM as Assistant General Counsel in 1999. Previously, she had practiced for four years as a corporate associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP's New York Office. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree from the College of Arts and Sciences and a B.S. degree from the Wharton School. Ms. Hoffman received a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School.

Kevin Vermeulen

Kevin Vermeulen
Senior Vice President, ALM Conference and Trade Show Division and Corporate Vice President of Sales

Mr. Vermeulen was named as head of ALM’s Conference and Trade Show Division in 2007.  The division is one of North America’s largest producers of educational and networking events for business leaders and the legal profession. He also serves as ALM’s corporate vice president of sales, responsible for working with all of ALM’s sales organizations to help clients purchase cross-media packages.

Mr. Vermeulen had previously served as vice president/group publisher of ALM since 1998, overseeing advertising, circulation, production and business affairs of company's national magazines.  Prior to this, Mr. Vermeulen served as vice president of sales with National Law Publishing Company, one of ALM's predecessor companies, as well as holding several senior-level management positions with the company's publications including The National Law Journal and the New York Law Journal.

Before joining NLP in 1992, Mr. Vermeulen was a regional sales manager for Miller Freeman and Gordon Publications. He earned his bachelor's degree from Brockport State University in New York.

Michael G. Desiato

Michael G. Desiato
Vice President, Real Estate Media

Michael G. Desiato was promoted to the position of vice president for ALM's Real Estate Media division in 2007. Mr. Desiato, who also serves as group publisher and editorial director for the division, was formerly group managing director and editor in chief of Real Estate Media from 1989 to 2006.

Mr. Desiato joined REM in 1979 as an assistant editor for Real Estate Forum magazine and was named associate publisher three years later. In 1989, he became editor in chief of the magazine and later played a key role in the development and launch of GlobeSt.com, the RealShare Conference Series and REM's regional magazines.

Mr. Desiato is the former president and chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Editors. He has served as a panelist for industry organizations including the Urban Land Institute and BOMA International and is a member of BOMA International's Education Advisory Council. Mr. Desiato received his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.

Sara Diamond

Sara Diamond
Vice President, Book and Directory Publishing

Sara Diamond has been a Vice President of American Lawyer Media since July 2000. Her responsibilities include all activities of Law Journal Press, Law Journal Newsletters and ALM Publishing, the company's professional book imprint. In addition, she plays a key role in licensing and business development activities for the company. Ms. Diamond first joined the company nine years ago, initially handling product development responsibilities for the book division where she was subsequently promoted to Director and Publisher in 1999.

Prior to joining ALM, Ms. Diamond worked for eight years at Matthew Bender & Company, where her last position was as an Executive Editor for the Banking law product line. Previously, she clerked for a Federal District Court Judge and worked for the New York State Attorney General's office. Ms. Diamond holds a J.D. from Albany Law School, and a B.A. in political science from the City University of New York, Queens College.

Glenn Filippone

Glenn Filippone
Vice President, Production

Glenn Filippone was named Vice President, Production for ALM in 2007. Mr. Filippone joined ALM in 1998 from Cherry Lane Magazines, Inc. and has served as vice president of manufacturing for ALM's national and real estate publications since that time.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communications Management from New York University and a Master of Science degree in Publishing from Pace University.

Patricia Crocker France

Patricia Crocker France
Vice President, Marketing

Patricia Crocker France joined ALM in 2006 from BusinessWeek, where she had served as vice president, marketing, with responsibility for the magazine’s brand positioning and North American and global marketing programs.

During her tenure there, she launched the magazine’s Effie award-winning “See Inside” advertising campaign, developed the global integrated marketing and promotion program for BusinessWeek’s 75th anniversary issue and created BusinessWeek’s “Meet The Reader” direct marketing campaign. 

Prior to this, Ms. France was vice president, marketing for Earl G. Graves, Ltd., publisher of Black Enterprise magazine, and also served as director of Black Enterprise Unlimited.  She began her marketing career at Cheseborough-Pond’s USA. 

A former board member of Advertising Women of New York, Ms. France holds a B. A. degree from Howard University and received her M.B.A. degree from New York University.

Alex Kam

Alex Kam
Vice President, Digital Strategy and Business Development.

Alex Kam was named Vice President, Digital Strategy and Business Development in 2007. He joined ALM from HBO, Inc., where he has served as director, affiliate sales and marketing, financial planning & analysis. Previously, he held positions as principal/chief operating officer for Interactive Entertainment Holdings, an online sports video venture, and as general manager for Major League Baseball's MLB.com.  Prior to that Mr. Kam was director, interactive ventures for HBO where he was responsible for developing business opportunities in new media including HBO.com.  He began his business career as an investment banking analyst at Kidder Peabody and Salomon Brothers.

Mr. Kam received a B.A from the College of Arts and Sciences and a B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He earned his M.A. degree from Yale University.

Robert Kondracki

Robert Kondracki
Vice President, Finance

Robert Kondracki was promoted to Vice President, Finance for ALM in 2007. Mr. Kondracki had served as director of finance and controller for ALM since 2003. He joined the company as director of accounting in 1999 from Statewide Savings Bank.

A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Kondracki is a graduate of Kean College.

John Mason

John Mason
Vice President, Operations

John Mason was promoted to Vice President, Operations for ALM in 2007. Mr. Mason had previously served as publisher of ALM's Pennsylvania Newspaper Group. He joined the company in 2005 from Public Opinion, the Gannett daily newspaper for Franklin County, Pennsylvania, where he had served as president and publisher since 1996.

Mr. Mason is a graduate of the State University of New York at Potsdam.

Aric Press

Aric Press
Editorial Director

In January 1998, Aric Press became Editorial Director for American Lawyer Media and its entire portfolio of publications. He joined ALM from Newsweek, where he had worked for nearly 19 years. For the last ten, Mr. Press had been a senior editor in charge of Newsweek's coverage of education, law, news media, religion, science and sports. This was a broad assignment that included responsibility for subjects ranging from the latest developments in cancer research, to coverage of the Branch Davidians and the O.J. Simpson trial. Before becoming an editor, he was Newsweek's justice writer for nine years.

A native of Cleveland, Mr. Press is a graduate of Cornell University and New York University Law School.
