William L. Pollak
President and Chief Executive Officer

Jack Berkowitz
Senior Vice President

William L. Pollak has served as ALM¹s President, CEO and a member of ALM¹s board of directors since the company¹s formation in 1998. Mr. Pollak joined ALM after 16 years with The New York Times. During his tenure at The Times, he held a variety of senior marketing, advertising and circulation positions. From 1994 to 1998, he served as Executive Vice President, Circulation, reporting to the President of the newspaper. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President of Sales with responsibility for the advertising, circulation and marketing departments; Senior Vice President of Circulation for the New York, Northeast and National editions of the paper; and Director of Marketing Planning.

Mr. Pollak is a Director and Treasurer of ProBono.Net, a non-profit organization that utilizes information technology to expand delivery of legal services to low-income individuals and communities by public interest and pro bono lawyers. He is also a Director and Treasurer of the American Business Media (ABM) trade association.

Mr. Pollak graduated cum laude from Harvard College, earning an A.B. degree. He received an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.

George Dillehay
Senior Vice President – Legal

George Dillehay has served as Senior Vice President for ALM since 2004. Prior to 2004, Mr. Dillehay was Publisher of the New York Law Journal, and oversaw The National Law Journal and ALM’s newsletter publishing group. He previously served as a consultant to the company.

His industry experience includes executive positions with The Village Voice, The New York Review of Books, and its English literary magazine, Granta, as well as The Jordan Group, Channels magazine and the Children’s Television Workshop. Mr. Dillehay established his own consulting practice in 1991. where his clients included Bill Communications, The Nation and Mother Jones.

Mr. Dillehay holds a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from New York University.

Eric Lundberg
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer ­

Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Eric Lundberg was named Chief Financial Officer in 2008. He joined ALM from Penton Media, Inc. where he served as CFO and COO for the company. Previously, Mr. Lundberg was Vice President and CFO of ALM from 2003 to 2007, and Vice President, Finance beginning in 2001. Mr. Lundberg was Publisher of ALM¹s Texas Lawyer Division from 2000 to 2001. He joined ALM in 1995 and held a variety of financial positions with the company, including Corporate Controller and Director of Financial Planning. He began his career with First Fidelity Bank and Price Waterhouse.

Mr. Lundberg graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. degree in accounting.

Allison Hoffman
Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Allison Hoffman was named Senior Vice President in 2007. She had previously served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for the company since 2001. She joined ALM as Assistant General Counsel in 1999. Previously, she practiced for four years as a corporate associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP’s New York Office.

Ms. Hoffman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree from the College of Arts and Sciences and a B.S. degree from the Wharton School.  She received a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School.

Jack Berkowitz was named Senior Vice President in August 2002. Previously, he had served as Vice President, Business Development for ALM since 1998. A 30-year veteran of the media industry, Mr. Berkowitz had served as a consultant to ALM since the company’s formation.

Mr. Berkowitz’s career includes experience as an owner, senior executive and consultant at many of the country’s leading publications and publishing companies. He served as Executive Vice President of The Village Voice, and as President of The Nation. Mr. Berkowitz assisted in the launch of The American Lawyer7Days, and World Business, among other new publications. As a consultant, his client roster included Hearst Magazines, ESPN Magazine, Time Inc., Associated Newspapers, AdWeek and Wasserstein and Co.

Kevin Vermeulen
Senior Vice President – Legal

Kevin Vermeulen, Senior Vice President, Conferences & Trade Shows, had headed ALM¹s events group since 2007. Mr. Vermeulen had previously served as Vice President/Group Publisher of ALM since 1998, overseeing advertising, circulation, production and business affairs for national magazines. Prior to this, Mr. Vermeulen served as Vice President of Sales for the National Law Publishing Company, one of ALM’s predecessor companies, and held senior-level management positions with the company¹s publications including The National Law Journal and the New York Law Journal. Before joining NLP in 1992, Mr. Vermeulen was a regional sales manager for Miller Freeman and Gordon Publications.

Mr. Vermeulen earned his B.A. degree from Brockport State University in New York.

Michael Desiato
Vice President – Real Estate

Michael Desiato serves as Vice President – Real Estate, and previously headed ALM¹s Real Estate Media division. Prior to that, Mr. Desiato served as Editorial Director, Group Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Real Estate Media. Mr. Desiato joined REM as an Assistant Editor for Real Estate Forum magazine and was named Associate Publisher three years later. He later became Editor-in-Chief of the magazine and played a key role in the launch of GlobeSt.com, the RealShare Conference Series and REM¹s regional magazines.

Mr. Desiato is a former President and Chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Editors and a member of BOMA International¹s Education Advisory Council.

He received his B.S. degree from Ohio University.
